This event was special because it was the first time people could meet faceto-face since the coronavirus made us keep our distance. The forum was both in-person and online, attracting 300 guests to the venue at Gut Kaltenbrunn, located at stunning lake Tegernsee, and connecting with over 2000 people worldwide through a live stream. This hybrid participation was a big win, breaking down barriers and opening up exciting possibilities for the future of technology and innovation.

The EUTECH SDG Awards 2024 celebrate significant contributions towards achieving the UN‘s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Organized by the EUTECH, this initiative recognizes and rewards organizations and individuals for innovative solutions that address global challenges such as poverty, climate change, and inequality. The awards process includes an application, that is accessible to all entities, ranging from new startups to larger, established companies, proof of work, and final judgment by an expert panel. Based on a selected jury process, the winners are chosen from the nominees whose technology has a major impact on the world (globally) and on their community (locally). Another important criterion is the extent to which the technology and therefore the impact are scalable.
Winners receive a €10,000 marketing promotion package to further their projects and will be invited to join the Award ceremony in Germany. This effort underscores EUTECH‘s commitment to leveraging technology for social responsibility and environmental sustainability. The aim is to present innovative solutions relevant to all 17 categories of the United Nations‘ Sustainable Development Goals, which encompass various important issues including poverty, quality education, energy, clean water, climate action, economic growth, ocean cleanliness, and global peace.
EUTECH ensures that the winners represent a wide range of sectors, including technology, healthcare, education, and social enterprise. They all work to make a difference in the world, and their projects have a real impact on people‘s lives.
One of the winners from last year SDG awards was Wide Therapy, a company that provides online therapy to people in underserved communities. Wide Therapy‘s platform makes it possible for people to access therapy from anywhere in the world, regardless of their income or location.
Another winner was Ecodorp Boekel, a sustainable community in the Netherlands. Ecodorp Boekel is a model for how to live a more sustainable life, and it is inspiring other communities around the world to follow its lead.
